Biography

Dean Cascione is an American Neoclassical Shred Guitarist who is an Innovative force in today's Shred Guitar Scene. Dean was born in Bronx, New York and raised in a small suburban town right outside of Worcester, MA. He began playing guitar at the age of 10 and built his first electric guitar when he was 15. His Neoclassical Roots stem from his early training with Master Jazz /Classical Guitarist Steven Cancelli. "It was Steve who exposed my love for Baroque Music.” Dean is a pupil of the legendary Shred Lord Joe Stump, 6th top Shredder in the world - Voted by: Guitar One Magazine. Joe Stump is a true mentor. He's an amazing player, and my best friend. His inspiration has been key in helping me find my own unique sound and identity. It is Joe who unleashed my creativity and assisted me in expanding my guitar vocabulary. During the days when Shred was dying and Grunge was the rave, it was my Mentor Joe Stump who carried the Neoclassical torch high and proud - His strength and passion inspired me to continue writing, playing and recording the music I love." Dean is known for composing songs that combine killer fret board assault with memorable melodic melodies. In recent reviews, Metal Express Radio said, "This guy is freakingly dangerous with a guitar!" HARDROCK HAVEN has described Dean Cascione's Guitar Chop Shop as, "It's possibly one of the best in years in the solo instrumental guitar world" and "Is a "top" candidate for album of the year in 2008. Dean's debut CD “Guitar Chop Shop” was released March 2008. "Guitar Chop Shop" merited the 1 chart ranking for the week of May 24th and an overall ranking of 2 on the Guitar Nine Records Top Sellers Chart: Neo-Classical Metal for the month of May 2008. In Honor of one of Metal’s Greatest Legends, Dean Cascione, Manowar, HolyHell, MetalForce, and friends teamed up to record “Magic – A Tribute to Ronnie James Dio."
